Celebrity Takeover

One Week Only: LaToya Jackson & Jackee Harry Star In Off-Broadway’s NEWSical The Musical

Thats right. No. It’s not a joke. Both of these world famous women, Latoya Jackson (The Celebrity Apprentice) and Jackee Harry (227, Sister, Sister), will grace the stage in NEWSical The Musical. It’s an ever changing musical comedy based on current events and pop culture. “From Honey Boo Boo to Paula Deen, Andrew Weiner to A-Rod, marriage equality to Kim and Kanye’s baby North West,…”

Latoya Jackson of the famous Jackson family is trying something new but not to far fetched. However, Jackee Harry is no stranger to the stage. Before her success on her hit television shows, Harry was very much in the New York theatre scene. She was last scene on Broadway as Madam in The Boys from Syracuse(2002) and also graced the stage at LA! Reprise for a star studded cast of Damn Yankees(2007)

Ken Page and Armelia McQueen as Joe and Meg Boyd, Lillias White as Dory and Jackée Harry as Sister, Lesli Marghertia as Gloria Thorpe and Hassan El-Amin as Coach Burns, Cleavant Derricks as Applegate and Meg Gillentine as Lola, Ty Taylor as Joe Hardy at ‘Damn Yankees’ at LA Reprise!

It should be interesting to see how they include these two ladies in their ever evolving show. It’s had success off-Broadway for almost 3 years and started to have celebrity appearances, tailoring the show to each one, in the past year. Check out these two stars while you can. Each making their mark on this show for a week, one right after the other.
Jackee Harry – August 23 through August 27.
LaToya Jackson September 3 through September 8
