First KeKe, Now Sherri, No NeNe In Cinderella On Broadway

Rumors surrounding Broadway’s Cinderella have been circulating for weeks now. Well, changes have been officially made. Yesterday afternoon, we reported that actress and new talk show host Keke Palmer will be joining the cast as Cinderella on Sept 9th. Today, an additional announcement has been made. Another talk show host will be joining the cast, Emmy Award winning Sherri Shepherd as the evil step mother, Madame.

Shepherd is best known for her spot on The View, which she departs from on August 8th. Having made a quick stint on Broadway not too long ago in Newsies for a segment on The View, she will also join the cast on Sept 9th with Palmer.

But it seems there may be some salty mouths behind the scenes because just a few days ago NeNe Leakes of the Real Housewives franchise revealed she had been in talks about joining the Cinderella cast. According to Madame Noire this is what Leakes had to say:

We’ve heard rumors that you’re coming to Broadway is that true?

You know. I’m not trying to get the role. I wish I could say something else. I have been spoken to–how about that? I’ve been reached out to but it’s not like I’m trying to get the role. Come in and try to get the role, I was not approached that way. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I would love to be on Broadway by the way.

Was that shade? Tell us what you think in the comments below. Either way, CONGRATS TO SHERRI SHEPHERD & KEKE PALMER!!!
