Colman Domingo and Sharon Washington Are Wild With Happy… Again!

Wild With Happy is making its West Coast premiere in Los Angles. The new play about family, death and healing by Tony nominee Colman Domingo stars himself and Sharon Washington. Having worked together on this piece before, last fall at The Public and on Broadway in another, Scottsboro Boys, its safe to assume these two work well together. Those who have seen their work are sure will agree. Wild With Happy is still on the tips of tongues here in NYC and it’s only right that the West Coast gets a taste. Previews began on June 5th with the official opening being June 8th at TheatreWorks’ Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. Rounding out the cast are Duane Boutté and Richard Prioleau.

In the play, Domingo plays “Gil, a struggling black actor whose past and present collide when his mother dies and he decides to have her cremated – despite his Aunt Glo’s request for a traditional funeral service and burial. Soon after, with a furious Aunt Glo in hot pursuit, Gil finds himself on an unexpected road trip with his mother’s ashes on his way to the place where she was most happy. Both outrageously funny and immensely touching, Wild With Happy explores the bizarre comedy that lies within death and healing.”
