And The Winners Are…! 2016 Tony Award Winners

Last night was epic. You hear me? EPIC!rnrnThe 2016 Tony Awards was definitely one for the books. An unprecedented number of African American artists received nominations and several of our Broadway Black favorites took home trophies! Including wins in all four of the musical performance categories, Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs and Renee Elise Goldsberry owned the night by setting the record for the first time in Tony history all four musical performances were won by people of color! Hamilton also took home 11 of their 16 nominations, coming in second for the most wins for one show to 2001’s The Producers which took home 12 wins!
