Last seen in the short-lived After Midnight cast, Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox will be joining the Huntington Theatre Company’s revival production of Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner alongside television veteran Malcolm-Jamal Warner.
With direction from David Esbjornson (Driving Miss Daisy) and a book adapted from the screenplay by Todd Kreidler (Holler If Ya Hear Me), this is shaping up to look like a solid re-visitation.
“This funny and poignant new stage adaptation offers a fresh interpretation of the beloved Academy Award-winning film. Joanna surprises her liberal, white parents when she brings home John, her African-American fiancé, to meet them. Both sets of parents must confront their own unexpected reactions and concerns for their children as their beliefs are put to the test in this warm family comedy.” -Huntington Theatre Company
Lenox will be playing the role of Mary Prentice, to Warner’s Dr. John Prentice, and shows are set to begin September 5 in Boston, MA! Check out this video about the play from Huntington Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Peter DuBois.
