Review guidelines

Please read these before you write. A person reads every review, and reviews that break them are not published.

Review what you saw. Review a production you actually attended or watched in full. If you worked on the show, or have a personal or financial stake in it (cast, crew, producers, press agents, or their friends and family), please don't review it.
Write it yourself. Reviews must be your own words and your own opinion. No copied text, and no AI-written reviews.
No payment, no perks. You are not being paid for your review and nothing is offered in exchange for it. If you received a free or discounted ticket, say so in your review. We don't accept reviews written in return for compensation.
You keep your words, we may share them. You keep ownership of your review. By sending it, you give Broadway Black a free, non-exclusive, worldwide right to publish it, edit it lightly for length and clarity, and share it, in whole or in part with your display name, on our website, newsletters, social media and promotional materials. You can ask us to take it down from our website at any time. Copies already shared or reposted elsewhere may remain.
Be honest, be kind. Honest criticism, including a negative review, is welcome. Critique the work, not people's bodies, identities or private lives. Harassment, hate speech, threats and discrimination are never published. Please avoid major spoilers.
Keep it on topic. No ads, promotion, links, or personal details about other people.
One review per show. Each email address can review a show once. You must confirm your email by opening the link we send. Your email is never shown, and we use it only to confirm your review and to reach you about it.
Use a name you're comfortable sharing. Your display name appears with your review. Use your first name, initials, or a nickname.
A person reads every review. Nothing is published automatically. We may fix small typos, shorten for length, or decline or remove a review that breaks these guidelines, looks fake or coordinated, or cannot be verified. We may not be able to reply to every one, and we won't change what you meant.
You must be 13 or older. Please don't submit a review if you are under 13.
