Dui Jarrod‘s one man show, The Definitive Loser’s Guide to Winning is in its final weeks Off-Broadway. The play explores the world of a writer trying to find his voice and ultimately discover who he is amid the “losers” he meets in life.

Dui Jarrod is a playwright, screenwriter, director, and essayist whose focus is the power of human connection in the landscape of modern America- this mission is clearly demonstrated in his current theatrical work. The journey of this play began in Jarrod’s hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas last summer followed by a run in Brooklyn at the Kumble Theater in September. His work captures the struggle of not only an artist, but any human seeking to thrive and it dares to question, “what are you willing to lose in order to win?”. This joyful and heart-wrenching play is definitely not to be missed and will hopefully have a long life ahead.

The one man show tells the story of how to win in the film industry, as we meet some of life’s losers Dui’s met along the way from his Arkansas roots to New York City. Directed by Pharah Jean-Phillipe, in collaboration with Jarrod, The Definitive Loser’s Guide To Winning carries you through first-hand accounts of stories that have carried this emerging writer from pain and doubt, to self-discovery and fulfilling his life’s purpose.
