]]> The cast of Something Rotten recently took time away from performances at the St. James Theatre to hit the studio and record “Welcome to the Tony Race.” The catchy tune name-drops several Tony-nominated actors, actresses and productions as it invites audiences to 2015’s biggest evening on Broadway. Set to the melody of one of the show’s hit songs, “Welcome to the Renaissance,” this revised tune features actor Michael James Scott, as does the original.

Scott plays the Minstrel in Something Rotten, a musical about two brothers in the 1590s who attempt to outdo Shakespeare by writing the world’s first musical. Nominated for an impressive 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the cast of Something Rotten will be performing during the Tony Awards this Sunday, June 7. But, for now, enjoy their little ditty that is sure to get you excited for the telecast that begins at 8pm eastern.

]]> If you’re looking for great outdoor entertainment with but theater in the park is getting a bit more crowded than you like, New York City Center, in collaboration with the Public Theater are presenting “Fall for Dance” free for two nights in September.

Last year saw a successful turnout at Delacorte, the outdoor venue, so the show has been brought back for another showing. This year will feature performances from Hubble Street Dance Chicago, two-time Tony Award choreographer Bill T. Jones and the Arnie Zane Dance Company, as well as Lil Buck and another artist that has yet to be named.

Tickets for the September 12th and 13th shows will be distributed on the day of that show and through a virtual ticket lottery with each recipient getting two passes.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Fall for Dance back to the Delacorte again this year,” said Public Theater Associate Artistic Director Mandy Hackett to Theater Mania. “Partnering with Fall for Dance is a beautiful collaboration as our organizations share common goals and vision of making the arts and culture accessible to all New Yorkers. Experiencing such extraordinary work from the world of dance on the Delacorte stage is utterly thrilling.”
