Casting directors from both productions will be seeking charm, charisma and confidence from actors, singers who move well and dancers needed to fulfill ensemble roles as well as to cover or replace lead characters. Singers will simultaneously be considered for both shows during the vocal audition. Dancer calls are staggered by gender and by show, so that dancers can attend auditions for both.

Performers of all cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to journey to the Pride Lands or Agrabah. Casting details and breakdowns for each show can be found HERE. Note there are strict age and height requirements.

Last year marked Disney’s 20th anniversary of its first Broadway venture, Beauty and the Beast. As many as 12 shows have been produced to transform classic stories in new and exciting ways. The Lion King musical – based on the 1994 Disney animated film – made its Broadway debut in 1997, and has become the highest grossing production on The Great White Way at more than $1 billion. Aladdin opened on Broadway March 2014 and Tokyo, Japan, this May. It has a Germany debut in December and enters West End next year.

The galvanizing experience of these musicals, which have been seen by millions of people, can be felt in the friendly airport sing-off  by members of each cast during a six-hour delay earlier this year.

Hot Chocolate Nutcracker follows the idea of the original tale, with a little twist!  It’s Christmas Eve and the Johnsons are having a grand ole party. The youngest child, Kara Johnson, is a young spirit-filled girl who receives a Nutcracker filled with hot chocolate for the holidays. Falling into a deep slumber, Kara takes the audience on a mystical, magical journey to new lands of wonder from Candy Cane Lane to Egypt to the Land of the Kimona Dolls to Bollywood. Three wise cracking mice narrate the story; they are the three stooges incarnate from New York City who call themselves “The Real Rat Pack.” With dazzling choreography, music and costumes, The Chocolate Nutcracker is sure to be a hit with audiences of all ages.

The show this year stars Debbie Allen, Raven Symone, Carlo Imperato, Tichina Arnold, Rasta Thomas, and many more! With an original score by Mariah Carey, Arturo Sandoval, Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen, James Ingram, Shiamak Davar, Tena Clark and Thump. Performances dates are December 18, 2015 at 7:30pm and December 19, 2015 at 1pm and 7:30pm. There will also be an additional special school performance on the morning of December 18th, 2015 at 10am.
